• Where Have I Been??

As you may have noticed, there has been a period of about 2 months in which I have been MIA on this blog. It was essentially both an intentional and unintentional break, but it was honestly much needed. A lot of stuff has happened within the past 2 months… I finished my Junior year of high school (hardest year of my life). Summer began, which means youth group events began to pick up the pace and friends want to hang out all the time (which is not at all a bad thing). I also began my nannying job to precious 9 year old twin girls. That definitely consumes most of my…

  • Jr/Sr Banquet 2015

This year, I had the amazing experience of attending the Junior/Senior Banquet. For those of you who go to public school and have no idea what I mean by “banquet,” I mean “private school version of prom.” It’s basically prom with no dancing but is still really fun. I took a few pictures throughout my getting ready journey and banquet night to share with you. I hope you enjoy!   A few prom tips//what I did to prepare:  Tan yourself but make it look natural–I used Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer ($7 at Walmart) to make my skin have a natural glow. It works wonders if you blend it well. Don’t…

  • A Life to Live

Do you ever just get tired of doing stuff all the time? Well, lately I’ve been feeling this a ton. I feel like I don’t have anytime to actually sit, relax, spend good time with people I love, enjoy myself, etc. without worrying about an upcoming homework assignment or quiz, the ACT, or other things weighing heavily on my mind. I just want to get away. Don’t get me wrong… There are so many exciting events happening in my life right now–Jr/Sr Banquet, school ending (hallelujah!!), the school play of Cinderella, college visits, summer adventures, etc. But with all of this “stuff” in my life, I feel like I miss…

  • A Letter to Future Me

“Stop waiting for Friday, for summer, for someone to fall in love with you, for life. Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for it and make the most of the moment you are in now.” -Unknown   “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” -Walt Disney   “Be Kind. Work Hard. Stay Humble. Smile Often. Stay Loyal. Keep Honest. Travel when Possible. Never Stop Learning. Be Thankful Always and Love.” -Unknown     Dear Future Self, I am writing this to you as a personal mission statement of the things I want to accomplish in our life, which I hope we have…

  • A Few Guilty Pleasures

As you can probably tell, I’ve been kind of dry with ideas of things to write about lately, so I took it to Pinterest to find some (like I do pretty much everything else). This seemed like a great one. Basically, I am going to share with you a few things that are my “guilty pleasures” or a few of my favorite things (for “when the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad,” no?…okay…haha) that I go to whenever I need a quick pick-me-up. These range from TV shows to food to beauty products and even YouTubers. Pretty much just a range of many things. Hopefully, this will…

  • Everyday Makeup

Personally, I love learning what other women do for their everyday makeup routine. It is very interesting to hear other women’s favorite products. I was asked to share mine, and I thought it was a great idea. So, here is my everyday makeup routine. First of all, I start out with a great skincare routine. Skin care makes all the difference in makeup application and overall look. Concealer I begin my makeup routine by concealing my dreaded dark circles and the occasional blemish or two. My favorite one is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Light. This one offers great coverage and brightens the under eyes well. Yes, it is mostly…

  • January Favorites

Since we are nearing the end of January, I want to share a few things I have been loving this past month with you. Let’s start with beauty. Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow This month, I decided to splurge with my Ulta gift cards from Christmas and purchase this high-quality palette. This comes with 6 beautifully matte, cool-toned shades perfect for everyday wear. They are super pigmented and smooth, which makes them easy to apply. Whether you are a beginner or an expert with makeup, this is definitely worth every penny spent. $29 at Ulta Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub  If you have never been into a Lush shop and…

  • Skincare Routine: Day + Night

I have been told many times that I have great skin (*blush*) and have been asked to share my secrets. If I am being completely honest, I have no secrets! Good skin runs in my family, and I have found products that work for me. That’s it! First, I want to talk a little bit about my skin type. I have combination/oily skin, which means that I get oily in my t-zone (the nose/forehead area) and am a bit drier towards the outside of my face. I also really only break-out around–ahem–“that time of the month,” and it is usually just one or two spots around my nose, forehead, or chin…

  • Christian Music

If you are thinking that you do not really want to read this post because it is about Christian music and you think Christian music can be boring, I encourage you to keep reading, and I hope I change your mind about this like mine was. Up until recently, I had never really liked listening to Christian music. Honestly, I always thought it was boring. I enjoy loud and upbeat music that makes me want to dance around or sing at the top of my lungs. I have never wanted my Christian life and love for Christ to be boring, and I desire to feel connected when I praise Him. The Christian music…

  • New Year’s Goals

Yes, I said goals and not resolutions. I recently heard a Y0uTube beauty guru talk about her view on the whole “new year’s resolutions” thing, and it really stuck with me. She said that resolutions are things from the past year that you wanted to “fix” and that “new year’s goals” were way more important. Goals are things in the new year that you want to achieve, improve on, or start, rather than fix and make right. Since I loved this idea so much, I thought I would share some of my new “goals” for the new year, and maybe you can get some ideas for your own goals instead…
