A Letter to Future Me

Dear Future Self,

I am writing this to you as a personal mission statement of the things I want to accomplish in our life, which I hope we have achieved by the end of it all.

I hope we have gone to the college of our dreams and had an amazing experience. I hope we graduate with a degree in fashion and attend cosmetology school after that. We will then move to Los Angeles to experience the culture, make some amazing friends, develop ourselves in the fashion/makeup industry there, and maybe work for a big company. I hope we build our blog to its fullest potential, make a name for ourselves, and inspire others through that.

I hope that we find the man of our dreams along the way. We will fall head-over-heals in love with him, and he will do the same for us, but he will be in love with Christ more. Through that love for Christ, he will know unconditional love for us. He will be the perfect man God has planned for us who is a great father, husband, best friend, and provider. I hope that we are the best that we can be for him, and I hope that we have remained pure until marriage to him. I hope that we will have the wedding of our dreams full of sparkle, love, friends, and family.

I hope we have made life-long friends that are there for us no matter what. We will be there to support them always and love them fully. I hope that we take many adventures with them full of road trips, spontaneous events, and world travel. We will live life together to its fullest and grow closer to each other each day.

I hope we will have many children and have an amazing, close, and loving family that has fun together and shares great experiences with each other. I hope we will be an amazing mother who is a best friend to our kids. I hope our kids know that they can come to us with anything without fear of judgement and a knowledge of unconditional love. I hope that we raise those children to know and love Christ the way that we do, with the help of our husband, friends, family, and church.

I hope that we live life to the fullest every day. We will travel as often as possible and live in the moment. We will not take advantage of any moment and be as happy as possible. We will live by the quotes listed above. We will follow our dreams and not be afraid of judgement.

I hope we fall in love with Christ and continue to live for Him. We will pray often and live the best for Him. We will focus on being positive in all situations but give ourselves time when we need to be sad or grieve. We will know who we are, love that person, and not be afraid to be who that is. We will follow our dreams and accomplish all that we desire. We will make good decisions. We will not be afraid to share our heart and feelings when we need to open up, even when it seems scary. We will accept the things we cannot change and change the things we can influence. We will love life so much that it radiates out into other people’s lives. We will experience beauty, love, peace, and precious moments and never take those for granted.

A few weeks ago, I was asked to write a personal mission statement in one of my classes, and I was told that I could pretty much do it however I wanted to. I had a hard time figuring out how to write it and was stuck with my words. I had so much I wanted to say that it was hard to find an outlet for it.

Then I thought about a letter to the future me, and I could not let go of the idea. That’s what I decided to do. I chose a few quotes that I thought would be useful and just wrote.

I thought I would share mine with you for a few reasons: 1) to hopefully inspire you with my words; 2) to inspire you to maybe write your own; and 3) so that I can reference it later in my life.
